The time is NOW for a
US Department of Peacebuilding
The Peace Alliance supports efforts for peacebuilding including the adoption of legislation to establish a historic, cabinet-level US Department of Peacebuilding (HR 1111) in our federal government.
Why we need a Department of Peacebuilding:
- More people have died from gun violence in the United States since 1968 than in all the wars in United States history.
- Systemic racism is a significant driver of violence and a key obstacle to peace in the United States
- Peace is an essential prerequisite for the survival of humanity as we know it in the 21st century
